The Twilight 5km Run/Walk will start at 7 pm on June 23th, 2011 in conjunction with the Tigard Festival of Balloons.
Race Day Schedule
- 6pm - Packet Pickup and Day of Race Registration Opens
- 7pm - 5K Start
- 8pm - Awards Party and Door Prize Drawings
We will have race day registration starting at 6pm. Cash and Check only.
Directions
The race is at Cook Park located at 17005 Southwest 92nd Avenue Tigard, Oregon.
Parking
Parking will be very busy, so please carpool and come early. On site Balloon Festival parking is available for $5 and within walking distance of the run finish line (Balloon Festival Parking)
Packet Pickup
We will have race day packet pickup starting at 6pm for those that have pre-registered.
Balloon Festival Entrance
The only free access to the Balloon Festival for Twilight Run participants is via the race course. Please keep your race number to identify yourself as a Twilight Run participant. You will be able to obtain a hand stamp if you want to leave and re-enter the festival after you have finished the run. Family, friends and spectators will need to purchase Balloon Festival tickets to access the run finish line. Festival tickets are $5 per person (http://www.tigardballoon.org/)
Course and Markings
Each mile will be indicated with a sign. Signs and volunteers will be at all intersections directing you as required. The 5K course map can be found on the Course web page.
Aid stations
There will be an aid station out on the course at the 1.5 mile mark. Water will be provided at the aid stations.
Trail Etiquette
The Cook Park trails are shared by runners, cyclists and rollerbladers. We ask that you only run 2 abreast, call out when you are about to pass someone ("Passing on the right"), and only pass on the right hand side. No littering please.
Restrooms
The flush toilet facilities of the park will be open and there will be port-a-potties near the start and finish. There are no restrooms on the course.
Race Results
Race results will be up on the web page within 24 hours.
Race Awards
Race awards will go to the top three male and female athletes in the Open and Masters category. The age group winners will be recognized as well.
