Reason to Run

You provide the reason, we provide the race.

 

Sister Striders


Join us Saturday mornings from 8:30 - 9:30 am at the Fowler Middle School track for Sister Striders, a women only walking and running group. Whether you are brand new to exercise or are just looking to connect with other women while you continue on your fitness journey, we want to encourage and support you.

This 12 week program will prepare you for a local 5K/10K fun run while enjoying a girls' morning out. Each week we will walk or jog on the track and/or trail and have a short info session on various fitness aspects. We will be able to break into groups depending on your level of fitness and speed. Our pledge is that no one is left behind!

Is This Group For Me?
If you can answer yes to the following questions then this group is for you!

  • Are you a woman?
  • Do you enjoy socializing and meeting new friends?
  • Can you walk from your couch to your car?
We want to encourage all women, no matter what their level of fitness, to come and join us.

Location - Fowler Middle School Track
Sister Striders will initially meet at the Fowler Middle School track at 10865 SW Walnut Street Tigard,OR 97223. Please note location is subject to change.

Registration
Sister Striders does not charge a registration fee, but we would like to cover our expenses (door prizes, office supplies, etc) At our first meeting participants will be asked to sign a waiver and contribute $10 towards the program. Please send an email to info@reasontorun.com to let us know you'll be joining the program.

  • March 17 - Race Planning - Chicks, Rock n Roll, 1/2s, & Ultras!
  • March 24 - Trail Running
  • March 31 - Running Gadgets
  • April 7 - Race Day Tips
  • April 14 - Race Day! Time for all that hard work to pay off. (Separate registration and cost)
Program Co-ordinators
Kacy Erickson is an avid racquetball player and has just started running. This past year she lost 70lbs and is excited to encourage other women on their fitness journeys.
Trisha Swanson has been running for almost 20 years and has completed numerous marathons and ultramarathons. She is a certified RRCA running coach and enjoys sharing her love of running with newbies.
